The time has come to say goodbye!

They gobbled and GREW!

Our trouts are getting very big, we seem to have been very lucky with our trouts as they are growing really well. Not long now until the release.

They are swimming!

Trout correspondent A.Lang reported, 'The trouts are cute, they are green and brown. Some are swimming fast and some are swimming slow. When they are hungry they swim to the top for food.'

They have started to hatch!

We were very excited to spot our first few hatched Trouts this morning. They are hard to spot at the moment as they keep to the bottom of the tank and are very small. We will upload some pictures when we get them.

As you may be aware over the past few weeks we have had a tank installed in the small classroom in UKS2. Today we took delivery of 100 Trout eggs. Year 5/6 will be responsible for looking after the eggs. In the wild only 5% of the eggs will survive, we are hoping to achieve 70-80% survival.

We will then visit the River Ribble close to Easter to release the eggs, we will also have the opportunity to discover other wildlife in the river and possible go fishing!
