Homework each week will usually consist of :
1 x literacy, 1 x Maths and each half term 1 x ( usually topic or science )
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and will be due back into school on the following Tuesday. If children ever have problems with their homework, please encourage them to speak to me about it as soon as possible. We can go through it again together before it is due to be handed in.
Spellings will be set for children in addition to this. The children will write these words into their reading diaries.
Practising numeracy skills such as number bonds, mental arithmetic and telling the time, in a friendly and informal way like in the car or at the shops, will also help improve / consolidate their learning in class.
Reading in Year 4
Please make an effort to listen to your child read ( 15 minutes each day is fantastic ) and comment or at least sign their reading record. Reading is an essential part of learning and it is wonderful when we can support the children both at school and home. Each week, the children will be asked to complete a reading activity related to the book that they are reading.
Thank you for using the Dojo service . I hope you have enjoyed the pictures I have posted of our activities and thank you for using the messenger service. I find it a really useful way to keep in touch with you all.
School has moved to a cashless system. Please remember that you can pay for all items such as school uniform, water bottles, PE and reading bags as well as school meals and trips via Parent Pay.
The children will be doing PE on Tuesdays ( outdoor ) and Thursdays ( indoor ). Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school and that all items are clearly labelled. Trainers and a sweatshirt or jumper may be worn for outdoor P.E.
Children should have in school a small water bottle with a non - spill spout.
Children are allowed to bring a healthy snack for morning break e,g Fruit/ dried fruits / vegetable sticks e.t.c
