What a busy few weeks!
We made it through SATs but we are still working really hard on our writing and getting ready for high school. Last week we had a fantastic trip to Knowsley safari park. Photos are to follow but I have to say year 5/6 were fantastically well behaved and a real credit to the school. We have also been cycling recently with the year 6's enjoying some instruction this week and last week. We will soon be going on high school days, year 6 for transition to their chosen high school and year 5 to experience what high school life is like. We will be sending a letter out soon to let you know more. These are brilliant days where the children get to participate in new an exciting activities. We also have a mad science assembly this week and the debt awareness course. Children have been given parts to the school play so please help your child rehearse. More information will be coming home soon.
We are on holiday next week - enjoy the break and hopefully we will have some nice weather!
We have been enjoying the start of Fairtrade fortnight, it links nicely with our topic on St Lucia. Please see out topic page for photos and children's comments.
Don't forget, on Friday year 5/6 will be taking part in the Fairtrade coffee morning. £1 gets you a delicious hot chocolate and cookie.
The Fairtrade football is on Friday, remember your kit!
Book at bedtime.
We are celebrating World book day with a 'book at bedtime', promoting the joy of reading whilst settling down for sleep.
Children are invited to wear their PJ's to school and bring their favourite book, plus a book to share with a member of Foundation stage.
Welcome back, I hope you are all well rested and looking forward to a busy half term! We have lots of exciting things planned. We will be starting our new topic Volcanoes, continuing our Science - changes of state and starting a new book Wonder.
Welcome to year 5/6, we have lots to share with you this year.
Our class teacher is Mrs Cookson.
Mrs Zinga, Miss Thorpe-Kennedy and Mrs Green work in our class and help us with our learning (lots)!
