Year 5/6 Key Information
Class Teacher: Mr Scott.
Class Teaching Assistant: Mrs Woolley.
Number of Children: 27.
Daily reading of at least 15 minutes per day is expected of all pupils in Year 5/6.
A home reading record has been provided for parents/guardians to comment and sign. All pupils must have their reading records signed daily.
Reading, and the understanding of what they are reading, will be massively important this year. The more reading they can do and talk through with yourselves, the more likely they are to succeed this year!
1 x Literacy and 1 x Maths homework will be set every Thursday. These will then be completed and returned to school by the following Tuesday.
Spellings and Times Tables will also be practised weekly.
One piece of topic homework will be set each half term.
The following PE kit is expected for all pupils:
Indoor- Plain white round neck t-shirt, plain black shorts, black PE pumps.
Outdoor – Same as above, plus a sweatshirt and tracksuit bottoms (for colder weather). Old trainers are recommended for outdoor PE.
Monday afternoons – Indoor PE.
Friday afternoons – Outdoor PE.
For health and safety, please ensure no earrings or jewellery are worn on these days.

Class Dojo is a free online app that allows you to keep on track of your child’s rewards and sanctions.
It is also the place where you can message myself to let me know anything you feel I may need to know e.g. medical appointments, problems at home that might affect school, questions you have about class or homework etc. Also, all of my important messages are sent to you via Class Dojo, so please get connected!
Through ParentPay online, you can pay for all school items such as: school uniform, school dinners, water bottles, trips, PE and reading bags etc. Please contact the office for more details as this is the only way we accept payments.
