Snow White in New York by Fiona French

Prince Cinders by Babette Cole

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith

Autumn - Instructions

As part of our English topic, we have been looking at instructions. We have been learning about imperative verbs and the importance of following instructions to achieve the correct result. As part of our learning, we made sandwiches and washed our hands following a set of instructions.

Tales with a Twist

We went to The Dukes Theatre in January to watch Cinderella. We really enjoyed watching the tale come to life and the twist the actors put on it.

Spring

Our reading these this half term;

Stories by the same author

Julia Donaldson

The Gruffalo

The Gruffalo's Child

The Snail and the Whale

The Highway Rat

Room on the Broom

We have written our own exciting adventure stories based on Julia Donaldson’s stories.

In English we are looking at Non-Chronological texts/reports.

We read a range of different animal non-fiction texts. We wrote down what characteristics we liked, what we disliked and looked at ideas we could magpie for our own texts. We will be writing our own non-chronological reports about North and South Pole animals to link to our topic work.

Holi

We learnt the story of Holi and acted out the Prahlad and Holika story. We made puppets to support our learning of the story. We enjoyed acting these out with our friends.
