First Session - Spelling and Grammar

This week we are looking at words with the suffix ably. ABLY means capable of . It makes the word into an adverb.

Please learn the first five ably words ( probably , noticeably , fashionably, impeccably and predictably ) Learn what they mean and how to spell them. Write each word in a sentence and put it in your exercise book. Use Spellzone to help you learn them . There are lots of activities you can try. Click below.

Today we are learning about using relative clauses. Click below. Watch the videos and do activity one and then do activity two . If you want to extend yourself further do activity three as well.

Second Session

This week our focus is on World War Two.

Explore what life was like for people in Britain in World War Two.

This week focuses on the start of the war and what life was like for evacuees.

When following links online, parents should monitor that children are remaining on that page only and are keeping safe online.

Day 1

Explore key facts about  World War Two by watching and reading these two sources, making notes as you go.

Read National geographic Kids: 10 facts about World War Two.

Based on what you have watched and read, create a quiz for a member of your family.

Try to use a range of different questions in your quiz, such as:

- True/ False

- Multiple choice

- Ordering statements

You may choose to create your quiz on an online platform such as Kahoot!

 

 

Third Session

Fluency - Number of the week

Number of the week

Today we are learning about Adding Fractions.

Watch the video clip and do the activity.

Fourth Session

Watch the activities and choose one to do. If you decide to make a tent. Why not make it into a reading tent and put books to read in it and read them to yourselves or share them with others. Please send me photos of your tent and I will put them on the class page.

Fifth Session

Walk to Avenham park with an adult and draw some of the features you can see . What are your favourite parts of the park ?

If you still have more time you can always do read theory ,

TT Rockstars and purple mash activities.
