Hi everyone! I hope that you are all safe and well and had a good holiday weekend. I miss you all and look forward to seeing you all again at some point soon when it is safe for us to do so.
**Please just do what work you can and please please don’t worry if you don’t do it all. I’d rather give you lots to keep you busy than not enough. If you wish to do alternative activities, that is also absolutely fine. Just do what is right for your family situation. Also, if you become stuck or are unsure, please just ask me. **
Today’s activities are as follows:
Writing – Theme: Climate Change
Read this page: Climate Change in the Arctic. Write down interesting facts as you read in your green book: https://wickedweatherwatch.org.uk/climate-change/climate-change-in-the-arctic/
When following links online, parents should monitor that children are remaining on that page only and are keeping safe online.
Now read the article attached below in Our Frozen Worlds (pages 1-5) and add any more interesting facts you find. Based on what you have learnt about climate change in the Arctic, create a quiz for a family member, adult or teacher to answer.
Try to include a variety of question types including multiple choice and true/false. Remember to proof-read your work to check it makes sense and for spelling and punctuation.
Science – To know how and why water and nutrients travel around our body.
When following links online, parents should monitor that children are remaining on that page only and are keeping safe online
Watch the links above and then use the facts gained from the clip to answer the questions below. Put them in a mind map of knowledge in your green book
What happened to the drinking water I swallow?
What positive effects does the water I drink have on my mouth, throat, stomach and other parts of my body?
How does the stomach process the water?
What parts of my body benefit the most from the water I drink?

Journeys can be short or long, exciting or routine, a mystery or clearly planned.
Write about a time that you experienced going on a journey. What happened? Where did you go? For what reason did you travel? Again, think about purpose, motivation, preparation and resources needed too.
And as always, any questions please just ask.
