The school follows the National Curriculum and ensures coverage through coverage of the Programmes of Study over two cycles so that by the end of each Key stage, every child has been taught the core skills and knowledge which are required.

The school identifies the skills to be taught in each year group and we assess core skills and knowledge as we progress through units of work within each area of the curriculum.  We continue to work hard to develop our curriculum and aim to develop the children's resilience, deep thinking and acquisition of vocabulary to succeed in life. In September 2020 we produced more detailed schemes of work which will tailor the core skills and sequential knowledge taught in each subject over each Key Stage and give greater opportunities for children to use and apply language and vocabulary.

The lockdowns over the past year have restricted full coverage of the curriculum but we have aimed to maximise teaching and learning of core subjects amidst the context enriching the personal development of every child. We aim to teach as broad a curriculum as we can and link lots of subjects to core curriculum subjects such as English, Maths and Information Technology.

If families require any further information about the curriculum then please request information by contacting the school office and a member of staff will be delighted to talk to you further.
