Curriculum Planning

The school follows the National Curriculum and ensures coverage through coverage of the Programmes of Study over two cycles so that by the end of each Key stage, every child has been taught the core skills and knowledge which are required.

The school uses the Lancashire Klips for each Foundation Subject and this identifies the skills to be taught in each year group.  We continue to work hard to develop our curriculum and aim to develop the children's resilience, deep thinking and acquisition of vocabulary to succeed in life. In September 2020 we will be following more detailed schemes of work which will tailor the core skills and sequential knowledge taught in each subject over each Key Stage and give greater opportunities for children to use and apply language and vocabulary.  Watch this space!

If families require any further information about the curriculum then please request information by contacting the school office and a member of staff will be delighted to talk to you further.
