First Half of the Autumn Term

Evolution and inheritance is our first topic. We have been studying the evolution of species and the inheritance of traits. Our main scientific skill this half term has been: Identifying and classifying.

We had lots of fun investigating the question: Why do different birds have different types of beak?

Second Half of the Autumn Term

This half term we are exploring light and how it travels. WE have had great fun so far using LED lights and the dark!!

We then learnt about refraction and how we see light.
We also used prisms to answer the question 'What colour is light?' We also investigated the relationship between the length of a shadow and the distance of the light source from the object.

First Half of the Spring Term

We have been all things related to Earth and Space! We even had a planetarium brought into school so we felt like we had travelled there!

Second Half of the Spring Term

Our new topic is Forces. We have been exploring the vocabulary and practicalities of forces in every day life. We have used the force meters to explore how much force is required to move different object in the classroom.
