Thursday 11th June

Hi everyone! I hope that you are all OK at home. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on. Even if it just to say hi! J

**Please just do what work you can and please please don’t worry if you don’t do it all.  I’d rather give you lots to keep you busy than not enough. If you wish to do alternative activities, that is also absolutely fine. Just do what is right for your family situation. Also, if you get stuck or are unsure, please just ask me. **

 Today’s activities are as follows:

  1. Complete Day 42 spelling activity on Purple Mash 2Do
  2. 30 minutes Read Theory – take your time and do not rush. Remember your are aiming for 80% or above.
  3. On the Kids Classroom Secrets, complete one of the grammar activities
  4. If you have an IDL log in...use it each day and complete the lessons.

Maths  - Below, I have attached a worksheet based on ordering and comparing fractions, decimals and percentages. We have covered this in school so it will be a useful revision exercise for you.

There are 2 useful videos as another reminder on:

Just watch the video. You don’t need to read/access any of the others things on that page.

Please complete this if you can. You don’t have to print it off, just record your answers and working out in your green book or do them on the squared paper I gave you and stick them into you green book. I have posted the answers for yesterday’s Maths work for you to self-mark.

Writing - Theme: Climate Change

Use all you have read over the past two weeks about climate change to create either of these two writing outcomes:

Mini-documentary: Imagine you have been asked to create a mini-documentary about climate change to feature on BBC. Select the topics that you have found most interesting and write a script informing others about climate change. You may wish to design posters, pictures or diagrams to be included in your documentary. If possible, video your mini-documentary and send to your teacher.

Non chronological report: Create a non-chronological report about climate change. Select the topics you found most interesting and write a section for each.

Remember to proof-read your work to check it makes sense and for spelling and punctuation.

Geography – LO: To know what contours and gradients are.

Watch the two clips below Understanding Contour Lines with Steve Backshall and Ordinance Survey BBC teach – understanding contour lines and gradients

When following links online, parents should monitor that children are remaining on that page only and are keeping safe online

Then create your own topographic model out of whatever materials you like. E.g card , playdough , mud etc. Make sure that your model has got a steep gradient on one side and gentle one on the other.

Here is an example – It does not need to be to scale.

Send photos in to me of your finished models J

DT – Antoni Gaudi - Textiles & Mosaics

To begin this unit, I want you to use the 2 PowerPoints that I have attached below to research the famous architect Antoni Gaudi whose work we will be using as a focus. You can present the information however you wish in your green book.

Any completed work can be emailed ( or dojo’ed to me.

And as always, any questions please just ask.
