Hi everyone! I hope that you are all OK at home. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are getting on. Even if it just to say hi! J

Writing Theme: Explorers and Adventurers

Read and enjoy Chapter Two (The Green Dark – pages 6 – 17) of The Explorer by Katherine Rundell here:

https://www.booktrust.org.uk/globalassets/resources/blogs/2017/september/the-explorer-katherine-rundell-extract.pdf

Based on what you have read, write a diary entry as Fred – reflecting on the day’s events.

You may wish to use the following structure for your diary entry – writing Fred’s account of what happened and his thoughts and feelings for each section:

Structure:

1. The plane journey

2. Fred’s first glimpses of the rainforest

3. Meeting the other survivors

4. The snake and finding a place to sleep

Remember to keep proof-reading your diary to check for spelling and punctuation.

Project – Fidget Spinner Enterprise Business

This week you will design and create your own fidget spinner brand/business.

Your task for today is to design packaging and a slogan for the fidget spinner. You need to come up with: a logo, a slogan and a packaging design.

We have already formulated the details of the product. They are as follows:

Appearance: This three armed, new and improved fidget spinner will spin faster than ever before, with innovative low-friction bearing motion and smooth and silent spins. Bigger than your average spinner, it can be personalised using unique design features.

You may want to research slogans, logos and packaging already in use by other spinner manufacturers.

Create a simple but colourful design with the name of the spinner clearly readable in the largest letters that fit on the packaging, is the formula followed by most packaging designers in the UK. There are suggestions attached below or you can use https://thesurrealist.co.uk/slogan.cgi to help you create a slogan. **Parental supervision is advised to ensure children are only accessing what is required online**

Any completed work can be emailed (jenny.collier@st-stephens.lancs.sch.uk) or dojo’ed to me.

And as always, any questions please just ask.
