Hi everyone! I hope that you are all OK at home. I know that you will be being kind and helpful to everyone else in your household….it’s a strange time for everyone.

 

**Please just do what work you can and please please don’t worry if you don’t do it all.  I’d rather give you lots to keep you busy than not enough. If you wish to do alternative activities, that is also absolutely fine. Just do what is right for your family situation. Also, if you get stuck or are unsure, please just ask me. **

 

 Today’s activities are as follows:

  1. Complete Day 27 spelling activities on Purple Mash 2Do
  2. Complete some of the Grammar activities on Kids Classroom Secrets or Purple Mash 2Do
  3. Maths –I have put a worksheet based on Simplifying Fractions below. We have covered fractions in class so this will be a good reminder and revision exercise. There is also a reminder/information sheet below to help you. Please complete it if you can. You don’t have to print it off, just record your answers and working out in your green book or do it on the squared paper I gave you and stick them into you green book. I have posted the answers for last Thursday’s work for you to self mark and I will post the answers for today’s work tomorrow for you.
  4. If you have an IDL log in...use it each day and complete the lessons.

 

Writing – Theme: Robots

In his novel, Pinocchio, the author Carlo Collodi describes the old carpenter Geppetto using the word fiery.

Use a dictionary, thesaurus or https://www.wordhippo.com/ to define this word. What impression does this word give you of Geppetto?

Re-read chapters 1-3 of Pinocchio.

What ‘fiery’ behaviour does Geppetto display? Make a list.

Using the events in what you have read, create a true/false quiz based upon the story to test your family with. Can they offer reasons (including evidence from the novel) for their answers?

 

Science LO: To investigate the effect of exercise on our pulse rate.

**Following on from yesterday**

Firstly you will need to carry out the investigation that you planned yesterday. Make sure you record your results in a table.

Can you represent your results in a graph too? Draw one in your book

What additional questions could you have investigated eg would we have got the same results if we’d used adults instead of children? boys as well as girls?

Now write a conclusion to explain your results and in the light of these questions.
