Wednesday 29th April

Wednesday 29th April 2020.

Activities to complete today (if you can):

  • Reading: Spend at least 30 minutes answering reading comprehensions on Read Theory. Link:
  • Reading: Spend at least 30 minutes reading a book of your choice. If possible, adults to ask questions about the book after they have finished reading. Link to possible questions you could ask:
  • Spelling: In the ‘Attachments’ area of our class page – you will find a sheet to help you practise the spellings from the spelling test you did yesterday. Please practise these ahead of retaking the test later this week. You will need an adult or older brother or sister to read the sentences out to you. You will then have to fill in the blanks.
  • Maths: Use the link below:

Click on Week 2, Lesson 3 -  Adding decimals with a different number of decimal places. Watch the video, do the activity, mark your answers. If you have any questions, or are struggling in some way – please get in contact with myself on Dojo and I will try your best to help you!

(Remember – if this material to too hard for your child at this stage in their development or without the resources they would have access to in school – please do not worry about doing this. You are also welcome to try lower year group work if you feel this would be beneficial. Please contact me if you think this applies to yourself. Thanks!)

p.s. Please message me to let me know when you have done your maths work – it is nice to see it, as I cannot see it like I could on Purple Mash. Thanks!

Food Technology and Recipe writing: This week is very much about helping Mr Scott. It has come to my attention (Mrs Scott has told me!) that I am not a very good cook. I only ever cook the same things over and over again. Mrs Scott has told me that I need to learn some new recipes – and I thought I know who to ask…YOU GUYS!

Your task this week is to write me a recipe of your favourite meal/dessert that you eat at home. You need to make it (send me lots of photos please!) BUT this time, you also need to write your own recipe. If you are feeling particularly brave, you are also welcome to make up your own recipe and give it a funny name!

However, I do want to see proof that you can make it, as well as sending me your own recipe for it! AT THE END OF THE WEEK, I WILL PICK A WINNER AND WILL TRY AND MAKE IT OVER THE WEEKEND AND POST THE RESULTS ON CLASS DOJO.

You are also welcome to do more than one over the course of this week and send it to me!

The attachments to help you with writing your recipe are in the ‘Attachments’ section of Monday 27th April’s work on our class homework page.

If you need any more help, please let me know on Class Dojo!
