2. Find these words in the text – stench, justice, residence, luxuriated, elaborate, impatiently vagabond and authoritatively.

can you work out what they mean? (Read the sentence they are in, the sentence before and the sentence after to help you work out the meaning).

Write down what you think it means. Then look up the definition of the word using a dictionary or on -

3. Now answer these questions:

-What are your first impressions of Mr Stink? Use evidence from the text to support your answer, like this:

I think this because in the text it says ...
Try and write more than one impression.

-What are your first impressions of Chloe? Use evidence from the text to support your answer, like this:

3. Can you use an instrument that you might have at home or an object that can make a sound to accompany the song?

How does it sound? How does it change/accompany the song?

RE =

This past Sunday (31st May) was Pentecost.

Pentecost is one of the most significant days in the Christian year. Pentecost takes place ten days after the rising of Jesus to heaven and celebrates the arrival of the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-21).

Watch this video of the Pentecost story -

The Holy Spirit is the promised helper and comforter who Jesus told his disciples to wait for before he ascended back into heaven to fill the hearts of believers with the fruits of love, joy and kindness.

1. We cannot see the wind, but we can see the effects of the wind. Discuss with an adult the power of the wind. Look out of the window, is the wind blowing? How do you know? Can you feel wind?

The wind blows the sails of the windmill, and makes the wind turbines turn. The wind turbines generate electricity. Perhaps they could be a modern symbol of the Holy Spirit. What do you think?

2. On the day of Pentecost 'there was a noise like a strong wind blowing' (Acts 2:2) listen here -

3. How do you think the disciples felt when the wind of the Holy Spirit blew on them? The wind of the Holy Spirit changed them. How? Write your answers to these questions in two sentences and then raid your recycling and make your own wind turbine or windmill.
