Welcome to Year 2!
Your last year in the infants, what an exciting year we have planned for you!
Below you can find our class welcome letter giving you information about PE, homework and reading.
The curriculum page show information about the topics we have planned for this year.
Mrs Chappelow is the class teacher and Miss Patel is the teaching assistant but the class is also taught by Mrs Hempton on Tuesday afternoons, Mrs Haughton on Wednesdays mornings and Miss Patel on Wednesday afternoons. Mrs Collinge and Mrs Tagari also provide additional weekly (nurture) sessions for some children who may benefit from additional support.
As usual we will be using Class Dojo as our reward and communications platform. Please check you are signed up. It is the easiest way to get in touch with the class teacher with and queries and questions.
When we earn 30 dojos we can choose our reward from the list we created in September. It might be a dip in the prize box, wearing our home clothes for the day or watching a movie (with popcorn!)
Please ensure PE kits are in school at all times. Although we have set days (Thursday indoor and Wednesday outdoor) these may be subject to change. PE kits will be regularly sent home to be washed and returned.
Reading is very important and we ask you read for 15 minutes every night. Children have stickers in their books with discussion points for you to share. Please use these and respond to them in their diaries. There may be particular spelling patterns which we are learning and these will be stuck in the diary too. Diaries should be in school every day.
When we complete our reading challenge for reading at home as often as possible we get a prize from the lucky dip!
