Address from Mr Coxhead the New Headteacher at St Stephen's School

We are very privileged to welcome Mr Coxhead as our new Headteacher at St Stephen's School. Mr Coxhead took up his position at the school on Monday, following the Easter holidays. Please see the following message from Mr Coxhead:

Dear Parents and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I write to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of St Stephen’s Church of
England Primary School.

I feel very blessed to have joined such a friendly, happy school. Thank you for the warm welcome this week!
It is clear to me that St Stephen’s is a special place. It is a school with an incredibly skilled, committed, and
caring staff team – I am already in awe of them. It is a school where relationships are strong – the sense of
togetherness and unity is inspiring. Most importantly, it is a school where all children feel valued, feel happy, and
feel that they belong.

I arrive at St Stephen’s with excitement and with an eagerness to learn from this fantastic team of staff and
governors. I look forward to supporting every member of the school family to flourish as, together, we lead the
school forward into its next chapter.

Prior to joining St Stephen's, I was the Headteacher at Parbold Douglas Church of England Academy (near
Wigan). Like St Stephen’s, it is a happy, inclusive school and will always be close to my heart. Away from school,
I have always lived in Preston; as such, it is a city that I am very fond of. My wife and I have two children, both
of whom are under the age of four. They keep us busy, but also bring much joy!

I look forward to getting to know you in the months and years ahead as we work together in partnership to
support your child(ren) to thrive. Please do stop and say hello if you see me at the gate.

With best wishes,

John Coxhead
Headteacher
