St. Stephen's is a happy and vibrant school.  Our rich diversity of language and culture give pupils a true experience of modern Britain, children form friendships with peers of a different culture or faith background to their own.  It is often noted by visitors just how friendly our staff and pupils are with one another and our values are exemplified in all that we do. Please select the values tab under "about us" to find out more about our Christian values and how they are linked to the values shared in our community.

"Aspire to Greatness" is our motto and the word "Aspire" is an acrostic which outlines the key aims for our pupils and staff. We want all of our school community to feel that it is possible to be better than they ever thought they could be.  The word Aspire stands for:

Achieving Highly - we all need to try to do our best.

Self-belief -  a sure key to success and we should tell ourselves often how brilliant we are!

Perseverance -  the attribute which accepts failure but determines to learn from it and try again.

Including everyone equally and celebrating difference - we all need to feel we belong!

Respecting oneself, others and school itself - we are taught by Jesus to "love one another".

Enjoying learning - we can all contribute to make learning fun!

We aim to teach a rich and vibrant curriculum which within a context of problem solving, reasoning, questioning, personal development and developing vocabulary so that our pupils thrive and are ready to make a great contribution in their future lives.  Staff and governors are committed to doing their best for St Stephen's school. Visitors are welcome and we look forward to meeting you soon!
