The Chief Executive for Lancashire made her first visit to a school on 13th June and she chose us!
This is what she wrote to LCC's 10,000 employers in her fortnightly blog:
"I had the pleasure of visiting St Stephen's Primary School in Preston and meeting some of our little stars of the future – I forgot just how small young children are! This school is in an area of high deprivation and over 50% of its pupils do not have English as their first language, so the school has some real challenges.
I was really impressed by the care and commitment shown by the head teacher and her staff. The children were great too. I was met at reception by Eunice and Angel who wanted to be a scientist and a teacher. I also met Alfie who was leading a project to decorate a big box, so that pupils could leave donations to go to children with mental health problems. I do think it is important to go out and about to get a different perspective. Seeing our services is a great way of helping me see the county from different professionals' points of view. It makes my job so much more real".
We are so proud!
