Courageous Advocacy

Salvation Army

As a class in RE, we talked about the importance of helping others. Our discussion lead to talking about the homeless people in Preston. We wanted to make a change, so we gathered ideas. One child suggested that we could make 'blessing bags' which include essential items and could donate these to the homeless people in Preston. As a class, we donated lots of items, enough for 5 blessing bags. The Savlation Army came to collect these.

Macmillan

We made apple flapjack using apples from our environmental area. We mixed the ingredients and baked for 25minutes. We had our flapjack with some juice or hot chocolate.

Mummy’s Star

Louise Harlow visited school (socially distanced) to tell children more about the positive work of Mummy’s Star. Some of our money donated was donated to Mummy’s Star.

Harvest

As a school, we donated lots of food for Harvest. The Salvation Army provide a regular service to families in need in Preston. We are delighted to have collected so much food for The Salvation Army and Harrington Street. Thank you for your donations!

Galloway's

Our class charity visited us in October for a socially distanced talk about how they support people. They showed us lots of gadgets that can help people who are partially sighted or have sight loss. They even challenged Miss Booth to pour a drink with a blindfold on.
