Lancashire SACRE Newsletter Article on Good Practice at St Stephen's

St Stephen's School is featured in the Spring edition of the Lancashire SACRE Newsletter. The article In the SACRE Newsletter (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) praises the high quality of education in RE in some Lancashire schools.

There is mention of the Eid enrichment day when many of our younger children visited a local mosque and discussed the design of the mosque with local architect Ismail Rawat. The Upper juniors received a talk about the Quran.

Also mentioned is our Diwali enrichment work when we had a visit from Aruna Patel and Kailash Parekh, two of our Governors. They talked about the character of Sita and the importance of duty and emotional strength in Hinduism. Some of our KS1 pupils visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir and the GHS temple.
